A few weeks ago I saw a long time patient at Odom’s Eye Care-Optical who needed her artificial eye cleaned. She had an eye injury as a teenager. I made sure to take extra time to care for (clean and polish) her artificial eye. I also showed her some tips on how to take better care of it at home. I recommended a new technology, impact resistant lens material in her new eyeglasses to protect her natural eye. Remember to get safe toys and gifts for our children, so they won’t have to learn to take care of an artificial eye due to a preventable eye injury.
